Career & Technical Teacher Recruitment Program

The Temple Center collaborates with local secondary schools to conduct teacher recruitment sessions that assist schools in their continuing search for competent teachers. Recruitment sessions are scheduled periodically in the north, central, south and Philadelphia areas of the eastern region of Pennsylvania. At these sessions, local school personnel, along with University faculty, provide preliminary information on statutory requirements, information on how and where to proceed in the pursuit of teacher certification, and job search tactics. Additional information about opportunities for substitute teaching and adult education teaching positions is sometimes discussed.

Center recruitment services continue once a CTE teacher becomes certified. Teachers are encouraged to continue their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. They are advised throughout the process which may culminate in professional benefits and financial gains. Bachelor Degree information sessions are held regularly to keep teachers informed about the processes and benefits of earning the degree.
